BPM Launches 9th Gen System with Multiple Upgrades

BPM Launches 9th Gen System with Multiple Upgrades

HOUSTON, TX-Dec. 4, 2017-SMT Global & Packaging interviews James Holava, BPM Director of Global Sales, at Productronica about new BPM innovations. BPM is now on its 9th Gen site technology platform, which is backward compatible with most 6th, 7th, and 8th generation sockets. 9th Generation supports the majority of the 39,000+ library* of components and devices that BPM has collected since 2002. This helps clients leverage many existing sockets and gives clients ease regarding the lifespan of future investments.

With the trend in the industry of higher density and smaller package devices, 9th Generation technology also supports the eMMC devices and the HS400 programming mode at 200 MB per second. This provides the throughput manufacturers need today in modern production. To improve handling for smaller device packages, BPM also introduced a new technology called WhisperTeach™. WhisperTeach™ automatically teaches the Z-height of components and removes the opportunity for manual defects.

BPM 9th Gen site technology is available on the 4900 and 3900 automated programming systems, as well as the 2900L and 2900 systems. To learn more about BPM 9th Generation site technology and programmers, please contact BPM.

BPM Microsystems Releases White Paper on Device-Driven Serialization

HOUSTON, TX–June 3, 2013– BPM Microsystems, a leading supplier of device programming systems, announces the release of its latest white paper, titled “Advanced Device Serialization Using an External Serialization Server,” written by software engineering manager Nader Shehad. This white paper explains how modern serialization applications can use a more sophisticated approach to facilitate device programming with Device-Driven Serialization (DDS).

DDS is a communication framework that allows the External Serialization Server (ESS) to communicate bi-directionally with a device-specific programming algorithm running as part of the programming application. This allows the ESS to become part of the programming algorithm and extends the functionality of typical serialization techniques.

“The bi-directional communication framework provided by DDS allows greater flexibility in the External Serialization Server,” said Shehad.  “For instance, the ESS can read device-specific data for logging purposes, control details about the programming operation, and be notified each time the device is powered on or off.  Moreover, a detailed failure analysis can be provided to the ESS to indicate exactly which phase of the program and/or verify operations failed. The ESS could then store this information in a database, send it via e-mail to key personnel, or integrate with other customer systems.”

DDS is a breakthrough in the serialization process that addresses today’s complex requirements of modern serialization. To find out more about Device-Driven Serialization, download the complimentary white paper here

About BPM Microsystems
Established in 1985, BPM Microsystems is a global supplier of electronic device programmers for all applications. The company is the leading supplier of vision-based automated programming systems and sets the standard in device support, performance, ease-of-use, and cost-of-ownership. Overview

In the device programming industry, serialization is the process of writing unique data to each programmed device. It can be used to program basic numeric serial numbers to a single device address and can also be used to program more complex data such as MAC addresses, encryption keys, GUIDs and randomization seeds to several device addresses on each device…

BPM Microsystems improves traceability with new laser marker software feature

HOUSTON, TX—May 15, 2013 —BPM Microsystems announces that with the release of BPWin version 5.32.0, automated system users now have the option to laser mark their devices with the programming socket location for improved traceability and quality assurance.

By downloading the latest BPWin software release, 3000 and 4000 series users with a laser marker can mark an additional line of text that specifies the programming socket location. This feature can help trace the programmed device back to the specific programming socket location for improved traceability and quality assurance. The socket location laser mark feature is an enhancement over previous software versions that allowed customers to mark serial numbers and date and time.

BPM Microsystems is committed to providing its customers with the best user experience possible. The company adds new software features to each full software release to ensure its customers receive continuous improvements.

Additional software features released in BPWin 5.32.0 can be found in the software release notes located under the Help menu of BPWin.
