Note

IMPORTANT: Algorithm support for this device selection is developed. Device samples are needed for QA testing and full release in BPWin.For information on how to obtain an expedited release of this device support please contact BPM Microsystems at:Inside Sales713–688-4600inside_sales@bpmmicro.comInformation on expected socket module support can be found our web page at: http://www.www.bpmmicro.com/find-your-device/**Please note that receipt of device samples and QA testing must be completed before socket module support can be validated.

Device Type: tinyAVR Microcontroller
Device Size: 8 KByte Flash with 128 Byte EEPROM
Algorithm Programming method: UPDI

Memory Organization:

Memory Type

Attributes(*)

Included in default Range (Y/N) DUT Physical Byte Address(hex)(if this area is selected/Activated) BPWin Buffer Byte Address(hex)
EEPROM Memory R/W/E Yes 0000_1400 – 0000_147F 0000_1400 – 0000_147F
Flash Memory R/W/E Yes 0000_8000 – 0000_9FFF 0000_8000 – 0000_9FFF
Default Algorithm Range 0000_1400 – 0000_9FFF 0000_1400 – 0000_9FFF

* R:Read only W:One time programmable (OTP) R/W:readable and one time programmable (OTP) R/W/E:readable and rewritable if not locked. Any configurations listed under Device-Specific’ in the menu item Device-> Settings will be written to the DUT during ‘Program’ operation regardless of memory range selection.Special Device Considerations:The Fusebytes and Lockbits Registers are set under Device > Configure.

Option Description
WDTCFG Watchdog Configuration. The Watchdog Timer (WDT) is a system function for monitoring correct program operation.
BODCFG BOD Configuration. The Brownout Detector (BOD) monitors the power supply and compares the voltages.
OSCCFG Oscillator Configuration. The actual frequency of the OSC20M is determined by the Frequency Select bits.
SYSCFG0 System Configuration 0. Modifying SYSCFG0[3:2] bits from default will prevent further access with this algorithm.Programmed in SECURE.
SYSCFG1 System Configuration 1.
APPEND Application Code End. These bits set the end of the application code section in blocks of 256 bytes.
BOOTEND Boot End. These bits set the end of the boot section in blocks of 128 bytes.
LOCKBIT Lock Bits. When the part is locked UPDI cannot access the system bus so it cannot read out anything but CSspace.Programmed in SECURE.
1. The content of the Signature Row fuses (SIGROW) is pre-programmed and cannot be altered. 2. Lock Bits. Any value other than 0xC5 will lock the device. Must enable SECURE to program this register. 3. Disable ‘ID check’ and execute ‘Erase’ to clear LOCKBIT. 4. Please see device specification for the Config settings

BPM does not sell programmable devices, nor do we program devices directly. BPM makes programmers and accessories to make programming in-house fast, easy, and profitable.
