We had part “deaux” of our company-wide “Half-Happy Hour” where about 18 folks (had a few pop in and out) got to relax, kick their feet up for a bit, and perhaps sip on something tall and cool. Rather than a trivia party, we talked about what we wanted to be when we were in the 5th grade (Veterinarians were popular, one hobo (thankfully a dream deferred), and a few unfulfilled sports stars. Only one batman). Sai conferenced in from India where it was about 2am… and we learned that Charlie has “about 42 beer steins.” Many of us shared good things to come out of our current health crisis– such as saving money on gas, or shorter commutes for those still coming into the office. Spending more quality time with family was popular.
It was great to see everyone. Next time, we’re going to have a virtual scavenger hunt / talent show*. How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice…
*or not… we’ll see.

We had our first company-wide “Half-Happy Hour” where about 20 of us blew off a little steam (there may have been some adult beverages consumed, but we can neither confirm nor deny). We got to introduce a couple of new peeps to the BPM fam, Shelby and Cassie. We recognized a hand-full of folks who have been with us for over 20 years, including Trung who has worked here for 29 years! (Bill W doesn’t count, but he’s been here 35)
Most folks are still working remotely, so it was nice to catch up. The rule was, “no talking about work-related stuff.”
We did some trivia using a service called kahoot.it… it was a “hoot”– most folks got “who’s buried in Grant’s Tomb” (hint: it’s Grant). Nobody got “besides chimps and gorillas, what other animal has human-like fingerprints” (Koala Bears!). Congrats to Jon for answering most quickly and correctly, followed by Jennifer M. and Robert. Jon gets the bragging rights, plus a $25 gift card.

IPC APEX EXPO is the largest event for electronics manufacturing in North America attracting more than 9,000 professionals from 45 countries. From the industry’s leading technical conference and application-focused professional development courses, to the innovation-driven exhibit floor, IPC APEX EXPO 2020 will be packed with far-reaching ideas and insights.
BPM is celebrating 20 years exhibiting at APEX on our 35th anniversary as a company. It’s been a great show, perhaps a little slower than last year.
It’s not too late! Stop by our booth (1604) before 2pm February 6th. Come see the fastest-selling Automated Programmer in BPM’s history… the 3901.

We at BPM have much to be thankful for… and we shared a meal together and celebrated a successful year, even with a tough economy. We enjoyed a tradition turkey lunch along with some not-so-traditional treats (like home-made spring rolls).

There was a “wild turkey” scavenger hunt… all over the building there were turkeys. At about 10am, the word went out that there was a prize for the person with the most turkeys… those who check their email (like yours truly) began to gather turkeys. The winners got gift cards for HEB, a popular grocery store here in Texas.
We are very grateful to work with such amazing people…so generous, kind, talented, intelligent, hard-working and resourceful — (and really great cooks too!).

Productronica, Day One
Day one at the largest electronics show in the world: Productronica in Munich, Germany. Colin Harper, Director of Engineering at BPM, says, “It’s been a great show– not quite as much traffic as last year (at Electronica), but more interest in our automated systems.” BPM is debuting a new APS: the 3928, a seven-site, best-in-class automated programmer (see more here),
